Who is Steve Young?
Jon Steven Young (born October 11, 1961) is a former professional football quarterback renowned for his tenure with the San Francisco 49ers in the NFL. He began his professional career with the Los Angeles Express in the USFL before joining the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1985. In 1987, he was traded to the 49ers, where he initially served as a backup to Joe Montana. Young became the starting quarterback in 1991 and led the team to victory in Super Bowl XXIX, earning the game's MVP honors. He was also named the NFL's Most Valuable Player in 1992 and 1994. Young retired in 1999 and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
